Ubuntu 22.04.1 Server

Download the current LTS version of Ubuntu Server.

Configure it with a larger than default drive (20G, 2 CPUs and 2GiB Ram)

Default Installation Except For​

  • Update to the new installer

  • create a rangeuser sudo user

  • Install OpenSSH Server

  • No Server Snaps

  • disable ipv6

    sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1
    sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6=1
    sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6=1

  • pull down the following script and execute

  • shutdown, remove CD and take a snapshot called base
